Why don't dogs go to the museum?
Why dogs? I do not know why the author assigned this name to his scientific work on semiotics and neurobiology. However, this does not make her less entertaining. Therefore, I will go directly to the point.
The author says that some kind of abstract dogs don’t go to the museum because they have practically nothing to do there. Museums are not within the scope of dogs. And high (and not so) art is of no value to them.
How strange. It seems that we live on the same planet with you. We listen to music together, watch movies, walk on the street, where everything around is continuous creativity. But in this stream we can act as an object of inspiration, a model. Or a reviewer blogger. High art is not subject to birth with fluffy fur and cute paws.
Art is a fundamentally different view of the world. Very serious work for the brain with non-trivial moves. That is why the neural network in the brain of a person who dances, listens to music, or paints pictures is in no way inferior to the neural network of a specialist in quantum physics. The only question is the quality of your brain.
Here I can not disagree with Brodsky:
poetry is your specific purpose
And we, your furry friends, are not so strong as to generate art. Our thought does not precede the birth of a brilliant work
Only you people look at everything, as it were, with the brain. And we, creatures located 1.5 meters lower, feel everything with our sensory systems. Although, how do you know, maybe we are able to give a critical assessment of your creative impulses? 🙂 Our thoughts are shrouded in mystery for you (at least until you familiarize yourself with my blog). However, the fact remains: in decision-making, we rely on sensoryism, you on your life experience, common sense (and not so) meaning. We listen with our ears, and you with the brain, we see with our eyes, and you with the brain again.
Your whole life and idea of it are placed in a small box at the top of your body.
Lifestyle, thinking, consciousness - everything is on the human neural network. The world for you is how you are able to perceive, classify and describe it.
And, you will not believe it, but even the happiness so much desired by you is just a quality of thinking.
And this is the realm of consciousness. We will not go into the unconscious, which, incidentally, is genius to the world, because even science slows down in research.
Only one question remains. If your whole life is controlled by the brain, with which, as it happens, you are not always in union, then who is at the helm: are you with self-esteem, or are you millions of insensitive neurons?
